G Scale and Gauge 3

Gauge 3 is an unlikely 'bed fellow' when run alongside my various G Scale and Gauge 1 activities and apart from the larger track width, we also have the problem of non-insulated wheels. Electric and steam on the same track anyway is certainly not compatable. Should you like to stay friends with your G scale associates, you will need to ensure that you are running parallel and not sharing, or if you are on 'three rail', make sure that the power is off for obvious reasons. I think that G3 runs in the same park at all is because of some scale similarity, IE 22.5, so we have a variation of 'scale' trains running on my railway here at Thurnby, and to be honest, they all seem to look fine together! As the manufacturers give us the whole range of popular scales within the parameters 1/22 to 1/29, most stock seems to fit in OK, although I suspect, there has been some 'licence' from the model makers when comparing some examples to the original prototype. The Challenger's, which are predominately to scale, run with the rest and look fine at 1/32. The sheer size of the original sees to that.
